epsDo you have a repeat prescription?

Did you know that every day GP’s in the UK issue 1.5 million paper prescriptions and 70% of these are repeat prescriptions?

Electronic Prescription Service

A new system has been created to make it easier for you to pick up your repeat prescription. It is called the Electronic Prescription Service, or EPS for short.

The Electronic Prescription Service is an NHS service that sends your prescription from the GP surgery to a Pharmacy of your choice without the need for a paper copy.

If you are interested in nominating a pharmacy to dispense your medication please click here for more information

Have your say – Join our Patient Group

The Practice is recruiting for our

Virtual Patient Participation Group.

Oakengates Medical Practice would like to hear your views on how we can improve our services at the surgery.

The practice already has a Patient Participation Group who meet on a quarterly basis which is very pro active in helping the practice improve its patient services. However we are aware that it is sometimes inconvenient or difficult for people to give up their valuable time to come to meetings here at the surgery, therefore we would like to set up a Virtual Patient Participation Group which will run alongside our current Patient Group.

The aim  is to reach out to a wide range of our patients and ask for their feedback as to how our surgery is doing.

If you would be happy to be contacted via email, no more than 3-4 times a year, to give us your views and participate in the occasional patient survey please click here.

Named Accountable GP

Under new GP contract terms each patient (including children) is now allocated a named accountable GP, who is responsible for the patient’s overall care.  For more information Please click here.

To find out who your named accountable GP is please contact the surgery.

The new contract does not change how the current appointment system works and patient’s can still request to see any clinician within the practice.

Nurse Practitioner Services

The practice now has two nurse practitioners who can see you for acute minor illness and injuries,

If you require the contraceptive pill please make an appointment with a nurse practitioner who can prescribe the contraceptive pill and the morning after pill.
